Want to go Steelhead fishing?
Want to go Steelhead fishing? Then check out the Steelhead Harvest Report from the Fish and Game.
No guarantee that this link will stay good forever, but it's a great way to see where the fish are right now.
Look for our sections near the bottom of the chart. We fish areas of 14, 15 15 and 17.
The most anglers and best fish are being pulled in the section the flows right by the Greyhouse Inn; Lemhi River to Pahsimeroi River. There have been 91 anglers checked. Those fishermen fished for 435 hours, and caught 35 fish. The water conditions are muddy.
Might not seem like a lot of fish, but where they are being caught. It's always best to be the guy on the end of a pole full of fish.
Spring Fishing is Great
The break in cold spring weather brought out a lot of anglers this weekend, with good efforts in sections 17 and 19 on the upper Salmon River. The Steelhead were not responding quickly to the bait with 10 hours per fish being common. Not to say others weren't having more luck though!
Fish and Game fishing reports show that the season is well on its way, and Steelhead were being caught in all sections.
The Pahsimeroi Hatchers is starting to see large numbers of steelhead moving into the traps. Friday March 23 saw approx 200 per day in the trap.
Spring fishing is always cold, but the fish are out there and you guides at Kookaburra strive for both comfort and great fishing locations.
