Steelhead Fishing on the Salmon River!

February roars in like old man winter and left us with 2 feet of snow and today we are getting some more. After getting all the driveways and trails to cabins and animals we decided we would go snow shoeing, then it started to blow in again. Maybe tomorrow.

Last fall we went scouting for elk and deer, saw allot of beautiful country and wolf tracks it was a little unnerving. But it was a great day to be out in the wilds of Salmon, Idaho. I took some pictures I will share them with you.

Steelhead fishing in October

This is a good time to plan your steelhead fishing trip on the Salmon River. We provide transportation to and from launch to take-out, a knowledgeable guide, all fishing gear, a drift boat, lunch and drinks, all you need to bring is yourself, and any extra clothing that you may require. We suggest mid October to late November as the best time to fish. Call and make your reservation today!

Why the Middle Fork of the Salmon

That's right! Why float the Salmon River Middle Fork, spend a lot of cash, eat sand, sleep on the ground, risk your neck, and go home covered in insect bites. A better staycation is one where you have a great time floating the Salmon River, but at the end of the day, you can dine in the restaurant of your choice, you can sleep in a clean, comfortable bug-free bed and enjoy the convenience of inside plumbing. All that for a fraction of the cost of a five day float.

Whitewater Rafting

Well the water in the Salmon River is warm and the rafting is wonderful make your reservations now so you will have a place on the raft. Fun will be had by all. The cow elk are caving so you might get to see some moms and babys on the  way to the put-in at Spring Creek, make sure you ask the guide to point out the caving grounds at Dead Water. It is also time for family reunions come to the Greyhouse Inn Bed and Breakfast www.greyhouseinn.com and take a river trip with Kookaburra Rafting your family will all have a wonderful time.
