vacation with a one day summer driving tour of the Lewis & Clark
Back Country Byway which takes you to Lemhi Pass, where Lewis & Clark crossed the Continental Divide in 1805.

Lewis & Clark and the Corps of Discovery in their epic journey to the

From this vantage point, take in the scene that has remained virtually
unchanged since Lewis & Clark passed that way 200 years ago. On
your way back towards the township of Salmon, you'll make several historically
significant stops including a Memorial to Sacajawea who was born in this
valley.
The next morning you will continue by road following the Lewis and Clark trail along Clark’s reconnaissance of the Salmon River to the point that changed history: the canyon that forced the expedition on a grand detour to the North. From here you will explore the canyon beyond by river to see what Lewis & Clark missed. You will spend the day rafting the fun Class II & Class III white water of the “Lewis & Clark stretch” of the Salmon River. Ideal for all abilities, ages 5 years and up.

boulders as it passes through the rugged perpendicular cliffs. From the
